I have a weakness for pretty packaging, and in particular for MAC. I've seen so many people giving mixed reviews, but I finally took the plunge and splashed out on Peach Blossom in cremesheen. For £15, I can see why some people think they're too expensive, but I really wanted to give MAC a chance!
First off, I love the simple and classic packaging. There's tiny grey flecks in the black, which makes it handbag friendly when it gets a little grubby. I chose Peach Blossom because I didn't want to take the plunge with a colour that was too bold for me and I'd regret, so I asked for help picking the right 'my lips but a little pinker' shade. After a long, long debate between this and Patisserie (in the end I could not see the difference I'd switched so much between them), I went for this because it's slightly paler and more complimentary to my skin tone.
One thing I wasn't expecting was an almost but not quite vanilla scent; it's not very strong, and might just be me, but it's really nice all the same. The lasting power of this is maybe 1-2 hours before I feel like I definitely need to reapply, but it's hard to tell with it being such a 'my lips' colour. I love the formula of cremesheen because it doesn't feel too drying or wet, it's a pretty good balance in between. It glides on really easily too.
The only bad thing I've noticed is that this is not a colour you can put too much of on. My lips can get quite dry, and if you layer too much of this up then boy can you tell. It gets a little... bitty and just generally not nice. Having said that, it's the kind of colour that is meant to be sheer, which is probably where I got carried away and went wrong.
Overall, I do really love this and I'm so glad I decided to go for it! If you're looking at taking the plunge on a higher end lipstick, I'd totally say go for it. I think I might be picking up a few more shades from MAC in the future!
Do you have any MAC lipsticks?

I love MAC lipsticks, I stick to just buying them as a rare treat though. This looks like a great every day shade where you want to keep things natural
