I recently got my nails done by a friend of my mum's (check out her website). I've never had much done to my nails before, so getting this done was really interesting! Shellac nails aren't extensions or anything like that; it's more just an extra long lasting nail varnish. It's a gel nail polish that lasts up to about two weeks, so I thought I'd let you guys know how I got on with it!
These photos were taken the morning after I got them done. I got a manicure, then a base coat, the polish, then a top coat, which are all dried separately by a LED/UV nail lamp. The colour my nails are painted in is called 'bare chemise', and I chose a neutral because I wasn't sure I'd want a more vibrant colour long term!
I really enjoyed having them done, and I'd definitely get them done again. I wasn't sure what to expect but so far I'm super impressed with the results! I was given some cuticle oil to help look after my nails, because the gel needs your nails to be dried out to apply properly. I've been using it every other night but my nails are still looking pretty healthy!
