Recently, I've really been trying to get back to basics. I used to love baking more than anything, but being away at uni has let that slide a little. So while I'm home over the summer I've been really trying to get back into that, and one thing that I've discovered that macaroons are a god send and I could happily spend days making them.

All in the name of research, I proposed to my mother that we treat ourselves to a box of professionally made macaroons to educate my palette in knowing what a good one tastes like. Macarons & More is a new(ish) shop in Norwich and trust me they are so good. I think I have a problem, because I actually spend time daydreaming about them. They're that good.

If you're looking to buy your own slice of heaven and in Norwich, you can find these in the Arcade in the city center, right opposite Jamie Oliver's restaurant. I had the three to the right of the box, and I think my favourite was the violet and blackcurrant. Don't let the flowers put you off, they're light and sweet and oh boy. Just heaven.

I'd really recommend them if you're local!
