Essie Sole Mate

My supply of autumn nail varnishes is a real gold mine (and does indeed include some gold shades), but Essie sole mate one of my favourites to get out this time of year. It's a deep plum with a hint of red kind of colour, so it's definitely got those autumn/ winter vibes, and it's putting me in an autumn mood even though the weather is still a bit undecided. I'm also still using the gel setter top coat (here) because I just can't get over how quickly my nail varnish dries with that as a top coat! It's a dream come true for us nail smudgers.

What's your favourite colour so far this autumn?

September Glossybox

£10 a month (plus p&p)

inside:
♥ Bellapierre shimmer powder
♥ invisibobble traceless hair ring
♥ Maria Nila luminous colour hair masque
♥ Nails inc nail polish
♥ Marsk eyeshadow brush pro

Glossybox are really outdoing themselves with gorgeously designed boxes at the moment, and I was really excited when this one arrived with five full sized products (worth over £60) inside!

I was excited for the invisibobbles (they came in a 3 pack, but one is already lost in the bottom of my work bag), because I've heard they're really good. I'm looking forward to testing them out at work! I'm also excited to try the hair mask (masque?!), because my hair is in need of some TLC, and this smells amazing. The eye shadow shimmer powder isn't one that I'm overly bothered about either way, though I might feel differently when I try it. I got the 'chick khaki' Nails Inc colour, which I like the look of. I love the brand, so it's welcome to my collection! Finally, I'm quite excited for the Marsk eyeshadow brush. It feels like it'll be good for packing colour on, which I'm really into so far this autumn!

Have you tried any beauty boxes recently?

Loving Lately #12

Autumn is my favourite time of year. Pumpkin Spiced lattes (I nearly cried with joy when I saw them back in Starbucks), cosy jumpers, cool breezes, nature getting all colourful, and a million other things. Let's not get started on conkers. So I'm so happy that Autumn weather is finally rolling round! You'll find me in my cosy jumper, Starbucks in hand, skipping like a child through leaves in the park.

Peace and love ♥

Feature Wall Inspiration

I've been redecorating my room, and I've decided that I'm going to have a feature wall! While I'm still trying to decide exactly what to have and where it'll look best, I've been rummaging around on Pinterest and started a feature wall board to get some inspiration rolling.

Do you have a feautre wall? Or any inspiration that might help me decide the fate of my room?!

MAC Cherish Lipstick

My MAC lipstick addiction all started back with Peach Blossom, but it didn't take me long to realise that I was more of a satin formula kind of girl. Cherish was my third satin formula purchase (Twig and Hollywood Cerise being the other two), and it'll be far from my last. Though I also really love the retro matte formula, satin just beats it because of how well it stays on my lips, without being drying at all.

I chose Cherish because I wanted a shade that was a little darker and a little more purple than Twig, and this fitted the bill. I'm not overly daring with bolder colours unless it's red, but I really love this. It lasts all day with minimal re-applying needed, and the next day my lips aren't drier than the Sahara (which has happened with other matte formulas). It's super easy to apply, and it really suits my pale complexion without making me look flushed.

What's your favourite formula of lipstick?

August Favourites

Rimmel Brow This Way £3.99
Soap & Glory Supercat eyeliner £6
Mitchum powder fresh deodorant £3.20
Nivea raspberry lip balm £2
Avon instant spot treatment £4.50 (currently £2.25)
shu uemura eyelash curlers £20

It's been a while since my last monthly favourites, so I thought it was time to post another! This month has been a mix of new loves and old discoveries, including my Rimmel Brow This Way, which I recently posted a review on. There isn't a day where I don't smother this all over my non-existent brows, because even on off-duty days I like the illusion of having eyebrows. I didn't expect to love this half as much as I do! I've also re-discovered my love for eyeliner, and Soap & Glory's Supercat eyeliner, which I've been wearing religiously the last few weeks. I've also mentioned this Avon Instant Spot Treatment before, and this month it's been an absolute saviour because I've had a sudden breakout that's leaving behind some serious scarring that would be a lot worse without this little beauty.

My new discoveries include MAC pro longwear foundation, which has a light enough coverage for me to wear day to day to help cover up my blemishes. Full review coming soon! I also decided to treat myself to some shu uemura eyelash curlers, which has been revolutionary. Pulling out lashes used to be a daily struggle, but this makes curling my lashes an absolute dream! I'm so glad I picked these up!

I've also been loving the Nivea raspberry lip butter, especially when I'm at work, because it smells so good. My final favourite was something I didn't think I'd ever include in a favourites post, but since I switched up my deodorant to this Mitchum one, I've noticed such a difference! I've stayed 100% cool and fresh every time I wear it, even in the recent heatwave weather. It's now my staple deodorant!

What are your favourites from August?

Life lately #18

The last week has been crazy beyond belief, between work, redecorating, seeing family, and generally just trying to stay sane. I seem to be constantly on the go with a thousand things to do, I'm sure it's crazier than last year when I was moving back to university! It's not all bad though- I'm finally repainting my room, after hating the colour for years. It's now going to be (and already half is) lilac, with a feature wall with some darker purple in it. Keep an eye out for my upcoming redecorating posts for more details...

Also, as this post goes up, I'll be travelling up to stay with my sister for some family time. From there I'm going to my boyfriend's house, because on the 8th he's finally coming home after 15 weeks of being apart. Excited doesn't cover it!

I hope you're having a lovely Sunday!

Peace and love ♥

Stationary Haul

This September will be the first year where I'm not going back into some kind of education. While mostly that makes me quite happy, it is also quite scary. But the thing that I'm mostly sad about is the distinct lack of things that I'll need new stationary for now. My love for new stationary, and the feeling of being oh so organised that comes with it, is unconditional, so I decided that even though I'm not going back to school, I'm just going to be my most organised self. Or at least have the stationary to do that.

I decided to be grown up and buy myself a diary, so I actually know when I'm working, rather than forever guessing when my next shift is. Though I wanted something understated, nothing could hold me back from buying a bright pink sharpie to write in it with, and a matching pink highlighter. Along the same lines as that, I picked up an address book from a sale at work to help keep track of grown up things, like usernames for a hundred different sites I'll never remember until I desperately need them.

I also decided to treat myself to some new notebooks, like this one from the Disney store, and another I ordered from Sighh, though I have no idea what I'm going to use any of them for yet! I also ordered this super cute day planner, because I'm all about those to do lists recently.

My next hunt is going to be for a folder (which I do actually need, honestly), and maybe even a pencil case, because this Minnie Mouse tsum tsum is just too cute to turn down...

Have you been buying anything for back to school, even if you're not going like me?!
